1.  Intended use 

Central  heating  boiler  with  pellet  burner 

Kalvis-100  MG...  Kalvis-500  MG

  (

the  boiler

)  is  used  to  heat 

various premises where central heating system with forced circulation is installed. Automatic mechanisms for 
heat exchanger cleaning, sooth and ash removal are installed in the boiler. 

Fuel burning is controlled by programmable digital controller, which monitors and controls the combustion 

process:  fuel  supply  to  the  burner;  fan  speed;  depending  on  the  boiler  or  heater  temperature,  automatically 
switches  the  system  pumps  ON  and  OFF.  It  has  a  possibility  to  select  language,  set  the  desirable  boiler, 
heater and heating system temperatures.  

2.  Safety requirements 

In the case of fire or if chimney is on fire, switch burner OFF and call fire fighters (

tel. 112

).  

It is forbidden: 

• To carry out maintenance of the boiler by single person. 
• To load clothing, oily rags or other flammable substances next to the hot surfaces of the equipment. 
• To disconnect the smoke exhauster at boiler stopping.  
• To disassemble the construction or the electrical installation. 
• To stoke the boiler with open doors and lids. 
• To operate boiler with faulty control-measuring devices, blocked protective valves.  
• To operate the installation without grounding boiler body properly. 
• To clean the boiler when electric power is turned on. 
• To carry out any maintenance or cleaning work in the hearth when the temperature is higher than 33 ºC.  
• To fire the boiler without filling the heating system with water. The water in the heating system and boiler 
should not freeze up. 
• When boiler is in operation, to close supply and return line valves. 
• To change the design of the boiler. 
 

It is necessary to check grounding for correct operation periodically (twice a year). 

Requirements for operating personnel

Boiler is allowed to operate by the persons aged over 18, who have checked their health state in the 

medical  establishment,  completed  the  safety  and  operation  training,  are  familiar  with  occupational  fire 
prevention  rules  and  have 

stoker’s  certificate  issued  by  competent  body  as  it  is  provided  for  in  the 

legislation of the country where the boiler is operated.

For boiler maintenance, a person has to be assigned,  possessing the certificate issued by competent 

body  to  the  expert  responsible  for  supervision  of  boiler  house  operated  without  permanently  present 
operating personnel.

Operational safety and fire prevention training is conducted by boiler owner or qualified specialist of the 

organization. If they do  not have sufficient qualification, qualified specialist from other organization has 
to be called for the training. 

•

Signature  of  boiler  operating  personnel  (expert,  operator,  stoker)  is  the  evidence  that  the  mentioned 

persons are familiar with qualified specialist trainings. 

•

Work place of boiler operator or stoker near the boiler has to be neat, clean, free of unrelated items. 

The following information has to be shown in a well-lighted part of work place:

Boiler house pipeline and equipment layout diagram; 

−

Statement  from  operation  manual  about  the  main  operation  rules  with  boiler  starting  and 
extinguishing references; 

−

Operation health and safety and fire prevention instructions.
