EMSIS – User’s and Installation Manual
When doing the initial tank setup, selecting a shape is the first step.
6.3.1 Tank Shape
Tank shape selection is made in a window shown on Figure 18. Select correct shape for your aircraft tank.
The graphics below shows the non-linearity of the tank. Straight diagonal line indicates that the tank is
linear.
Figure 18: Tank shape selection window. The figure shows that
the curve for the Dynamic WT9 tank is very non-linear
Custom shape
If none fits your aircraft specifications, select shape with “Linear” tank and press and
hold
the
down
button button. This opens a special tank shape editor, shown on the Figure 19. The editor is used to add,
remove or edit the points that define the tank shape. Each point consist of actual volume of fuel in tank
and appropriate sensors readings.
At the bottom of the window, you can see actual value measured by sensor. The value shown depends on
sensor type. If the sensor is a resistive one, then the value shows resistance and if the sensor is active
(capacitive) then you see voltage.
Figure 19: Tank editor window – allows you to define the curve of the tank.
We recommend the following procedure for the custom shape tanks:
1. Make sure that sensors are configured and that they are working. A good indication is a number at
the bottom of the tank edit window. This number must be alive.
2. Make sure the tank is empty and make sure the aircraft is level as it will be in the flight.
3. Delete all tank points so that you have an empty table.
4. Slowly pour fuel into the tank until the sensor number starts changing. Stop at this point. This is
