2. Operational tests
These tests must be performed by maintenance personnel when performing
the first power up procedure or to check RCP monitoring and control (
) or transmitter (
).
A. ELT operational tests
NOTE: ELT operational tests only provide the aircraft operator with an indica-
tion that the ELT is transmitting; however, a positive result cannot be interpret-
ed as meaning that the ELT meets all operational parameters.
• connect RCP to J1 and outside antenna to J2;
• switch the ELT from OFF to ARM;
• check that the Self-Test result is OK (one long flash).
B. RCP operational tests
Check correct operation of RCP LED
annunciator and external buzzer by switching
ELT and RCP as described in the sequential
procedure
(with ELT switch in the "ARM" position).
