ADJUSTING THE NEEDLE GUARDS (FRONT AND REAR)

Height of the needle guard (rear) 

When the needle is at the bottom of its stroke, line B on 
needle guard (rear) A should be aligned with the center 
of the needle's eye.

Front-to-back position of the needle guard (rear) 

When the point of the looper has reached the center of 
the right needle, adjust the needle guard (rear) so that 
there is a clearance of 0~0.05mm between the needle 
and the looper.    The same adjustment should be made 
on other double chainstitch machines. 
These adjustments are made by loosening screws C and 
D.  The clearance between the left needle and the 
needle guard (rear) should be approximately 0.2mm.
