Communication between Keeper and the daemon process
(see
subchapter 7.6.5).
Keeper operates with the rights of the user running the mail system
(sendmail, Qmail, Postfix or Exim). If this user is authorized to ac-
cess OS files and you failed to define the correct path to the log file
or the temporary directory, the system files might be damaged!
7.6.2. Processing infected messages
for an address group
7.6.2.1. General
concept
Every e-mail message contains sender and recipient addresses. These
features of a message define the processing rules to be applied to it. In
fact, these processing rules (settings) are predefined for the address group.
Therefore, you must insure the addresses are included in the right address
group.
The address groups and the appropriate settings are defined in the Keeper
configuration that can be changed using the WebTuner program (for details
refer to subchapter 11.10). For details on how to add an address to a group
see subchapter 7.6.2.2.
The address group to which a message belongs must contain both the
message From and To addresses. The program studies the address group
lists while searching for the message addresses. When addresses (the
sender and the recipient) are detected, the program applies the group
processing rules to the message.
The search for a message’s addresses in the address group is per-
formed in compliance with POSIX REGEXP.
For the program to apply special processing rules to messages with certain
To and From addresses, you must create a group section within the initiali-
zation file above all the other address groups, add these addresses to the
