Troubleshooting – BR/BD 550 (battery-powered unit)
Problem
Cause
Remedy
11. Poor cleaning
results.
Worn out or unsuitable
squeegee blades.
Check squeegee blades. If the rear
squeegee blade is worn down, remove it,
turn 180° and reinstall. Replace both rear
and front blades if required (consider the
intended cleaning application, and ensure
that replacement squeegee blades are
properly aligned).
Worn out or unsuitable brushes. Replace brushes; select brushes
according to intended cleaning
application.
Wrong cleaning agent.
Select cleaning detergents based on
intended application.
Wrong contact pressure.
Increase contact pressure
(see item 4, above.)
No or too little water supply.
See item 6, above.
Poor water pick-up.
See item 8, above.
Brush runs rough
(wobbles/vibrates).
Replace brush.
12. Irregular sweeping
pattern
(BR 550only).
Damage to cleaning head
mounting.
Realign brush head supports or replace
damaged parts if required.
Basic setting:
1.) Set brush contact pressure to
minimum value (lever in top position).
2.) Lower the cleaning head onto
concrete surface of medium
roughness.
3.) Measure the current draw of brush
motors.
4.) Turn the adjusting screw at the
cleaning head until both motors draw
the same current (mains -powered unit
approx. 4.5 A, and battery-powered
unit approx. 28 A).
13. Irregular sweeping
pattern (BD 550
only).
Damage to cleaning head.
No adjustments can be made to the
cleaning head of the BD 550. Damaged
parts must be replaced.
14. Parking brake has
no effect.
Brake linkage has been bent.
Straighten linkage and readjust.
