Troubleshooting – BR/BD 550 (mains-powered unit)
Problem
Cause
Remedy
4. Suction turbine
does not run.
Suction bar raised.
Lower suction bar.
Full dirty-water tank, level control
switch (S4) has cut out,
indicator lamp illuminated.
Drain dirty-water tank.
Defective level control switch
(S4).
Check level control switch. Replace if
required.
Blown fuse (F6).
Check and/or replace fuse. Investigate
cause of fuse failure (refer to item 10,
below).
Defective microswitch on
suction bar (S5).
Check microswitch. Replace if required.
Defective solenoid (K2)
Check solenoid. Replace if required.
Suction turbine without power.
Check connecting cables.
Defective suction turbine (M4).
Check suc tion turbine. Replace if
required.
5. Suction turbine
produces no
vacuum or too little
suction.
Blocked lint screen upstream of
turbine.
Clean lint screen.
Bent or blocked suction hose.
Check suction hose. Clean if required.
Tank lid not tight.
Chec k tank lid seal.
6. Manual on of
suction turbine
does not function.
Full dirty-water tank.
Drain dirty-water tank.
Defective sealed pushbutton on
instrument panel.
Replace instrument panel module (A3).
Defective level probe (S4).
Check level control switch. Replace if
required.
7. Suction turbine
does not cut out
10 sec. after the
suction bar has
been raised.
Defective microswitch (S9), or
microswitch is not activated.
Check adjustment. Replace if defective.
