MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS
DO NOT ENTER THE WATER with the electrical equipment plugged in and/ or in operation.
Please keep the original box for maintenance shipping.
Proper Installation
Ensure a power source with ground fault protection. Test the protection
device upon installation, after each re-installation, and monthly thereafter to ensure proper
operation. In the event of repeated trips, disconnected the equipment and it from the water.
Inspect the power cord for damage and consult a qualified electrician.
Observation
Observe operating equipment regularly for any variation in performance. If you
observe a change in performance, disconnect the equipment from its power source and inspect
for any material that may have wrapped around the shaft of the motor, especially plastic bags and
fishing line. Remove these as soon as possible.
Winter Storage
In regions where there is significant freezing , remove the circulator from the
water in wintertime. Store the unit out of the sun and above freezing temperatures. During the
offseason, store the unit on its side to help prevent the seals from drying out.
Cleaning
Remove circulators from the water at least once per year to clean the exterior of the
system, especially the stainless steel motor housing (can) to avoid build-up of algae, calcium, or
other materials. This buildup can lead to overheating. In warmer regions, Kasco recommends
removing the motor and cleaning it at least two to three times per year, depending on conditions.
Seal & Oil Replacement
Replace the seals and change the oil every three years. In warmer
climates where the circulator runs most or all of the year, replace seals more regularly than you
would need to in colder climates.
Sacrificial Anode
A sacrificial anode on the shaft of the circulator protects equipment from
corrosion and electrolysis. Replace the anode if it is reduced to half the original size or if it is white
in color. Check the anode at least every two to three months.
Repair services should be performed by Kasco Marine or a Kasco authorized repair center.
Any unauthorized alterations or to Kasco units will void the warranty. Please contact Kasco for
information on your nearest Authorized Repair Center.
