Add the non-wetting agent if it is not already integrated within the flux.

Place crucible in its heater.

Place mold on its holder, using appropriate mold holder ring.

Touch Start to launch the fusion.

Upon heating, the sample reacts if an oxidizer is present. Then, the flux melts
and dissolves the sample. The mold is heated at the same time. At the end,
the crucible is tilted to pour into the mold. A blower cools the disk.

At the end of the cycle, carefully pick up the glass disk.
Important:
It may
still be very hot, depending on the mold weight and program parameters.
Making
solutions
When making a solution, the process is quite similar, but a solution-specific
program must be selected, and the mold installation changes for the following:

Place beaker in instrument.

Fill a Teflon beaker with about 100 ml suitable dilute acid. (Nitric acid is
the most commonly used.)

Add a magnetic stirring bar.
