3. Selecting the input symbol rate
The desired symbol rate can be adjusted in 0.1 MS/s steps between 2.0 and 35.0 MS/s with the “
+
” and “–” keys.
The entry by is also possible in 0.001 MS/s steps numeric character entry.

Press and release
the “

” and “
z
z
” keys at the same time (mode starts).

Select the position with the “
y
y
” and “
z
z
” keys (the selected position flashes).
●
Set the position with the “
+
” or “
–
” key. Proceed in the same fashion to select all other digits.
●
Press and release

” keys at the same time (mode ends).
Note :
The code rate (e.g. 3/4) and the output symbol rate (e.g. 6,875 MS/s) are automatically
determined, as soon as the channel unit is locked to the set transponder.

If “too high” or “too low” appears in line 4 instead of the output symbol rate, the setting of the QAM ranges must
be changed (also see ’Selecting the QAM ranges for operation without Stuffing).
If several different QAM stages are possible, it is advantageous to set the smaller stage (e.g. 64 or 32
z
z
32).
In operation mode “Stuffing”, “too high” or “too low” is not displayed; instead of this, an exclamation mark indicates
that either the output symbol rate or the QAM stage must be changed in order to attain correct operation (also see
selection of the output symbol rate in operation mode “PRBS” and “Stuffing” with and without programme filter).

The output channel can be adjusted in 8 MHz steps between 114 MHz and 858 MHz with the “
+
” or “
–
” key.
The channel display only appears when the set output frequency matches the usual standard.
Fine tuning of the output frequency in 250 kHz steps is possible in the output frequency submenu.
To do this, access the submenu with the key, and set the desired frequency using the “
+
” or “
–
” key.
Exit the submenu again by pressing the key.
