Inspect
○
○
Before starting the day's work, make a habit of
looking all over the crane to inspect the exterior.
Start the engine according to the correct
procedure then make another exterior inspection
to check for leaks of oil, water or air.
Check for abnormal noise or vibration from any
of the covers etc. If you notice any, stop the
engine immediately and investigate the cause.

Inspect
○
Exhaust gas color
Inspect
○
Extremely white or black exhaust gas indicates a
problem. However black smoke when the load
on the engine is high or the accelerator pedal is
depressed hard is not abnormal, and neither is
white smoke in winter.
Abnormal noise on
starting, running or
stopping
Inspect
○
If you notice abnormal noise or vibration from
any cover etc., stop the engine immediately and
investigate the cause.
If you notice a smell of burning, scorching or
fuel after starting the engine, stop the engine
immediately and investigate the cause.
Stopping behavior
Inspect
○
Slack in the exhaust
pipe or silencer
Inspect
○
Fan belt slack
Inspect
○
Excessive slack in the fan belt can cause
overheating and inadequate generation by the
alternator. Excessive tension can damage the
engine bearings and snap the fan belt. Check the
tension of the fan belt and adjust it if necessary.
Oil pan
Engine oil
Check oil
level
○
Check the engine oil when the machine is parked
on the level. Use the level gauge to check the
level of the engine oil and add more oil if the
level is low. Change the engine oil if it is
extremely dirty.
Engine oil volume:
16L
Oil pan: 15L
Oil filter etc.:
1L
Radiator
Radiator core, fin
and tank
Inspect
○
Check the coolant level when the engine is
sufficiently cool. First, level the machine, then
inspect the coolant level through the inspection
window on the side of the reserve tank.
Make sure the coolant level is above the
inspection window for coolant level check. If the
coolant level is low, remove the cap from the top
of the reserve tank and add coolant.
Total coolant volume:
about 30L
Engine: 11.2L
Radiator: 7.2L
Sub-tank: 5.3L
Torque converter cooler:
2.5L
Piping: 4L

Inspect
○
Air cleaner element
Inspect
○
Look at the air cleaner blockage warning
indicator lamp on the cluster meter panel and the
dust indicator installed in the air cleaner to check
how dirty the air cleaner element is.

Look at the fuel gauge in the cab to check how
much fuel is left.

content
○
If the fuel level warning lamp on the cluster
meter panel flashes at 0.5 seconds intervals,
extract the water as described in the section
"Water separator inspection".
