Use:
The dermatoscopes are only to be used by au-
thorised professional personnel.
Purpose:
The KaWe dermatoscope is used for the
optical examination of the skin. This tool magnifies the
superficial skin structure approx. 10-times and illumi-
nates the examined dermatomic area with a halogen
bulb that is comparable to incident light microscopy
(epiluminescene microscopy). This dermatoscope
is used as a tool for the examination of pigmentary
skin modifications, especially for the early diagnosis
of malignant tumours. Moistening the skin with the
special dermatoscope gel (KaWe Derma-Gel) prevents
cuta neous reflexes and makes skin discolouration more
recognizable and more easily seen.
The unit has been exclusively designed to be
used for the examination of the exterior sur-
face of the skin.

Operation of of KaWe EUROLIGHT® D30 2.5 V
and 3.5 V dermatoscopes:
Satisfactory opera-
tion of these instruments is guaranteed with the use
of standard 2.5 V KaWe handles with KaWe-brand
2.5 V or 3.5 V rechargeable batteries and/or with 2,
1.5 V “C” batteries. Slip the instrument head onto
the handle and lock it into place. Turn on the sliding
switch by pushing and moving the white plastic but-
ton to the left. The light intensity (0=off 1=maximum
brightness) can be easily regulated with the rheostat.
Turn off the instrument by sliding the switch back to
the right to its starting position. To change the bat-
teries, unscrew the bottom locking cap. Rechargeable
handles can be charged with the KaWe MedCharge®
4000 charging station by removing the plastic cap at
the handle’s bottom and then inserting the handle
into the charging slot of the KaWe MedCharge® 4000.
The KaWe EUROLIGHT® D30 3.5 V has two handle
parts that are screwed together. These two parts can
be separated from one another and the bottom part
of the handle (the part with the plug) can be plugged
into an outlet to be charged. (CAUTION: EU model
has 240 V/3.5V!). Please only use 3.5 V KaWe-brand
rechargeable batteries. The instrument head can be
loosened and removed by pushing downward on the
sleeve.
