“Zecken-Fix“ Tick Tweezers
Dear Customers, thank you for choosing a KaWe product. Our products are known for their
high quality and long life. This KaWe product meets EC Standards 93/42/EEC (standards for
medical products).
Please read this User‘s Manual thoroughly and carefully before at-
tempting to use this product and heed the given care instructions.
Use:
„Zecken-Fix“ tick tweezers are only to be used in accordance with the instructions given in
the User‘s Manual. Before use, the instructions for preparing the tick tweezers are to be fol-
lowed. Immediately after the tick has been removed, the bitten part of the body is to be disin-
fected and in all cases, as a precautionary measure, examined by a doctor. The removal of the
tick does not protect against pathogenic germs.
Purpose:
”Zecken-Fix“ tick tweezers are suitable for use on people and animals and serve
to quickly remove ticks. The latin name for ticks is Ixodes ricinus. Their habitat is mainly in mild-
ly forested areas with pronounced underbrush. They also live on the edge of forests, mostly on
the underside of grass and bush leaves, and rarely higher than 1.5 m above the ground. They
live on animal and/or human blood and can go without food for up to 2 years. Their beak
buries itself mostly in areas where the skin is moist (scalp, ear, armpit, crook of the arm,
between the toes...). This takes place most of the time unbeknownst to the subject as
their saliva works as an anaesthetic.
According to medical findings, it is incorrect to try to smother the tick with oil or glue. This
method raises the risk of infection as the smothering ticks immediately salivate poisonous
pathogenic germs when they lack air.
Therefore: if a tick is discovered on the body, it should be promptly removed with the
„Zecken-Fix“ tick tweezers!
The „Zecken-Fix“ tick tweezers have the advantage of having adjustable tweezer tips that
can be set by the user to the desired position (see below).
