Securing your computer
Security features include hardware and software locks — a security notch and a
password.
Security notch
A security notch located on the left side of the computer lets you connect a
Kensington-compatible computer security lock.
Wrap a computer security lock cable around an immovable object such as a table
or locked drawer handle. Insert the lock into the notch and turn the key to secure
the lock. Some keyless models are available.
Passwords
Passwords can protect your computer and the BIOS Utility from unauthorized
access. When set with appropriate options enabled, no one can access the
computer without entering the correct password.
See “BIOS Utility” on page 69 for details on how to set a password and related
options.
Important!
Do not forget your password! If you forget your password, you
need to contact your dealer.
