Obligations of the studio 

operator

The studio operator is responsible
•   for informing users about possible risks of tanning.
•   for ensuring that all danger and safety instructions 

attached to the tanning device are legible, observed 
and not removed.

•   for ensuring that no safety equipment (e.g. thermal 

switches) is removed, deactivated or otherwise 
avoided.

•   for ensuring that operating, cleaning and mainte-

nance instructions are available.

•   for ensuring that the proper handling (use, oper-

ation and maintenance) of the tanning device by 
training and instructing the operating personnel.

Operating instructions must enable the 
safe operation of the tanning device, tak-
ing into account the national environmen-
tal and occupational health and safety 
regulations. Furthermore, they must take 
into account special characteristics of the 
studio operation and its conclusions.
•   In the EU, the EU Directive 89/391/EEC 

applies.

•   While in Germany, the Industrial Safety 

Regulation (BetrSichV) applies.

The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage or 
injury resulting from improper handling or non-obser-
vance of these operating instructions.
Only use spare parts approved by KBL! Replace tubes 
and high-pressure lamps only with those marked on 
the tanning device, otherwise the operating permit 
and warranty will expire!

General safety instructions

•   This tanning device has been designed for use in a 

commercial environment only. 

•   Observe all instructions in this manual. In addition, 

observe all valid legal and other applicable rules 
and regulations - including those of the country of 
operation.

•   The tanning device may only be set up and installed 

by trained and authorised specialist personnel.

 Do not make any unauthorised changes or modifi

-

cations to the tanning device.

•   Observe all danger and safety instructions attached 

to the tanning device! 

•  Do not under any circumstances remove the safety 

devices and safety instructions or ignore them!

•  Only operate the tanning device when it is in perfect 

condition.

•   Never operate the tanning device with the external 

cladding or acrylic panes removed! 

•   It is essential to observe the maintenance cycles 

specified in the maintenance plan.

•   For sunbeds, observe the load limit of the bench 

pane.

•   The bench may only be opened with the bench pane in 

place.

• 

The load capacity of the device canopy 
is not designed for additional loads.
•   Do not lean on or over the canopy of 

the device.
