Duties of the studio operator

The studio operator is responsible for:
• Informing users of potential risks related to the 

application.

• Ensuring that all hazard notices and safety instruc-

tions on the tanning device are legible, observed, 
and not removed.

• Ensuring that safety equipment (such as thermal 

circuit breakers) is not removed, deactivated or 
otherwise bypassed.

• Ensuring that operating, cleaning and maintenance 

instructions are available.

• Through training and instruction of staff, ensuring 

the proper use (operation, control and mainte-
nance) of the tanning device.

Operating instructions must enable the 
safe operation and control of the tanning 
device under consideration of national 
environmental protection and occu-
pational health and safety provisions. 
Special characteristics of the studio 
operation and resulting insights also have 
to be taken into account.

• Directive 89/391/EEC applies in the EU.

• The Industrial Safety Directive 

(BetrSichV) applies in Germany.

The manufacturer assumes no liability for damages 
or injuries due to improper use or failure to observe 
these operating instructions.
Only use replacement parts approved by KBL!
Only replace the tubes and high-pressure lamps with 
the type identified on the tanning device, otherwise 
the operating permit and warranty will be voided!

General safety advice

• This tanning device was designed exclusively for 

use in a commercial environment. 

•  Follow all instructions given in this manual. In addi-

tion, observe all relevant statutory provisions and 
regulations, also those applicable in the country of 
operation.

• The tanning device may only be installed and set 

up by trained and authorised personnel having 
received safety-related instruction.

• Arbitrary modifications or conversions of the equip-

ment are not permissible.

• Observe all danger signs and safety notices 

attached to the equipment.

• Safety notices must not be removed, and safety 

equipment must not be disabled or removed.

• The tanning device must only be operated when in 

perfect working condition.

• Never operate the tanning device with the outer 

covers or acrylic panes removed. 

• Absolutely observe the maintenance frequencies 

indicated in the maintenance plan.

• Pay attention to the load limit of the bench pane 

(tanning bed units only).
