6.1 Hot Swap Byass Switch
The Bypass has a provision for two AC connections. One is from the UPS system, the second is a
utility source.
a. The Anderson 6 pole is a latching type, each PP30 connector is rated at 30 amps. This will
accept the input/output connection AC harness from the UPS system. It is not keyed but the AC
harness is reversible.
b. The Second Connection is the utility/ installation connector. It is a Molex locking connector
that is used to provide the AC utility to the Bypass as well as provide the UPS power to the load.
The Bypass Switch is also available in a Rack-Mount configuration. All of the Connections are identical.
The Bypass uses 5 conductors. Please make note, each conductor has a specific function. If the
conductors are not connected correctly, damage to the UPS and Bypass may occur.
Black:
This is the Utility Input Source
White:
These (1 or 2) are Neutrals for the Utility Input and UPS output, they are always common.
Red:
This is the UPS Output Line (LOAD).
Green:
This is the UPS and Bypass Grounding conductor.
