1.
Please ensure the utiltiy power source is properly grounded.
2.
Ensure the voltage rating of power source is matched with the UPS specification
3.
HSU 1500 Bypass is in the BYPASS position.
4.
Batteries are connected and verified for correct DC voltage.
5.
DC connector is inserted fully into the UPS.
6.
Apply AC to the UPS.
7.
UPS will start initializing after AC input power is available for a period of 5 seconds. LED/LCD indicator
will be all lit and dim once and fan will start spinning. Full LCD display looks as below figure

Press the UPS
ON
button and hold and listen for the 2 successive beeps, the UPS will begin the start sequence for
5 seconds. The LCD display now indicates the measured input VAC.
9.
LEDs
will light up to indicate that the Utility and the Bypass are normal.
10. Then the AC input Icon and outputs icons (1 & 2) LEDs will remain on.
These 3 icons indicate the presence of AC Input voltage and output voltage. The UPS has two internal outputs
that are in use. ( 1&2)

The above power flow diagrams mean the start-up procedure is finished and the UPS is generating output AC.
The UPS is charging the batteries in on-line mode.
Before initiating the first backup test, always make sure that the batteries installed are completely charged
all of the DC cables and battery cable ends are tight.
