4.2.2  Protective earth and function earth

Protective and functional earth must not be connected to the same terminal.

4.2.2.1  Protective earth

The protective earth (PE) serves for electrical safety particularly personal protection in 

error case.

4.2.2.2  Functional earthing

A functional earthing may also be necessary, if for EMC requirements additional poten-

tial equalization between devices or parts of the system must be available.

The use of the functional earth (FE) is not required if the frequency inverter is 

EMC-technically wired as described in the manual  => Before starting.
The functional earth may not be wired green / yellow!
