Conditioner pump adjustments are done through the touchscreen.
Press on the + or – symbols to select the MIC per microliter (µl)
selection to highlight the button and check the pump volume for
that setting. In this example, we will use the 50 µl PUMP SETTING.
The OIL VALVE TIME will be displayed on the screen.
Matching the Oil Pumps
The volume test for each tank should dispense the same amount of conditioner in the
cylinder.
1.
Place the conditioner tip into a perfectly clean 25ml graduated cylinder and press
TEST PUMP A.
2.
The head will travel back and forth eight times to simulate forward loads. It will
pause and then run again for eight loads in reverse. The loads of conditioner are
deposited from 2-to-2 four times and 14-to-14 four times for each direction in the
graduated cylinder. This is equivalent to a total oil stream of 400 boards.
3.
Remove the tip from the graduated cylinder and read the amount. If the pump is set
at 50 microliters, then the output in the cylinder should be 20,000 microliters or 20
milliliters.
4.
Next, clean the graduated cylinder and place the conditioner tip back in and TEST
PUMP B.
If the volumes come out to be the same, then no adjustment is needed.
If the volumes come out to be the same, but they are equally too high or too
low, adjust the speed of the motor on the keypad assembly as shown in Step
5.
If the volume is too high or low in either tank, then a manual adjustment will
need to be made. This is explained on the following page.
3.
The Oil Pumps are adjusted by changing the speed of the
motor. Use the buttons on the bottom of the screen to
add or subtract from the motor speed value located to
the right under the microliter selection. The adjustment
will only affect the setting that is highlighted.
