For
RS-232 communication
, connect to serial port of computer
using a straight-through RS-232 cable (DB-9). Do not use a null
modem cable.
For
Ethernet communication
, connect
to Ethernet port of a computer, or to a
hub or receptacle of an Ethernet system
(see Note below).

The line voltage setting shown in the window of the fuse holder must
match line the voltage at the AC power outlet.

Note
Ethernet communication
– If connecting the 2701 directly to a computer, use an Ethernet
cross-over cable (RJ-45, male/male). If connecting to an Ethernet system hub or receptacle,
use a standard Ethernet cable (RJ-45, male/male).
Ethernet
– Press SHIFT and then EXIT (ETHERNET) to
access menu. Use the edit keys to enable the Ethernet
(ON) set DHCP (ON or OFF), and set the address (ADDR),
SUBNET and GATEWAY.
RS-232
– Press SHIFT and then ENTER (RS-232) to
access menu. Use the edit keys to enable (ON)
RS-232, and set the terminator (TX TERM), FLOW
control, and BAUD rate.
