Remote programming example (2-wire ohms)

Measure temperature
A thermistor or 4-wire RTD can be connected directly to the front panel inputs to perform
temperature measurements. A thermocouple cannot be connected directly to the front
panel inputs.
NOTE
Thermocouple
– Front panel thermocouple temperature measurements can
be performed if using a simulated reference junction (such as an ice bath)
as explained in Section 3 of the Model 27xx User’s Manual.
The Model 7700 switching module has a built-in cold (reference) junction
that allows a thermocouple to be connected directly to the input terminals
of the module. “

select and configure the thermocouple sensor.
1.
Connections
– Connect the thermistor as shown in

2. Function – As shown in
, press the TEMP key to select the Temperature
function.
3. Temperature configuration – Press SHIFT and then TEMP (SENSOR) to access
the menu. Use the front panel edit keys to select and configure thermistor, 4-wire
RTD or thermocouple temperature measurements:
• Thermistor:
a. Set measurement UNITS (°C, °F, or K).
b. Select the THRMSTR sensor.
c. Select thermistor type (2252W, 5000W, or 10kW).
• 4-Wire RTD:
d. Set measurement UNITS (°C, °F, or K).
e. Select the 4W-RTD sensor.
f. Select RTD type (PT100, D100, F100, PT385, PT3916, or USER*).
* The parameters for the USER RTD type can only be set using remote pro-
gramming (see Section 3 of the Model 27xx User’s Manual for details).
