CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE DRIVE BELT
1. The engine must be switched off and allowed
to cool down.
2. Ensure that the dead man's grip is in park and
that the drive belt can be rotated by hand.
3. Remove the screws and remove the protective
cover.
4. Rotate and visually inspect the drive belt.
If abnormally worn or damaged, replace the drive
belt.
5. Engage the dead man's grip and fasten to the
handlebars, e.g. with plastic ties.
6. Check the drive belt tension - you should be
able to depress the drive belt by 10-12 mm. See
figure 1.
7. If the tension is too high or too low, adjust at the
cable casing bracket as shown in figure 2. Remem-
ber to tighten the nuts on both sides.
8. Remove the plastic ties or other fastener hold-
ing down the dead man's grip.
9. Refit the protective casing, lock in place with the
screws.

If the drive belt is loose, adjust the tension to avoid shortening the drive belt's service life.
