Safety instructions
Be sure to read and follow the safety instructions in this manual.
Failure to follow the safety instructions can result in injury or
even death and in damage to property.
The safety instructions are identified by symbols and are intro-
duced by signal words that express the extent of the hazard. The
following safety instructions are used in this manual

Indicates hazards that may result in severe or
fatal injury.
Warning!
Indicates hazards, that may result in injury,
material damage or contamination of the
drinking water.
Note!
Indicates hazards that may result in damage to
the Hygiene Flush Box or malfunctions.
Info
Indicates additional information and tips.
Intended use
The KHS Hygiene Flush Box is designed for use in application
areas where a high standard of hygiene is required for a build-
ing’s drinking water supply (e.g. schools, nurseries, hospitals, and
retirement and nursing homes, etc.). The KHS Hygiene Flush Box
ensures a regular flow through the drinking water installation
and may only be used to prevent stagnation in drinking water
installations. Any other use is considered contrary to the intended
use and is therefore forbidden.
Use the system:

Misuse
Do not use the KHS Hygiene Flush Box with any liquids other
than drinking water. Failure to observe the assembly instructions
is considered misuse.
Obligations of the operator
The operator is the person who uses the KHS Hygiene Flush Box
commercially. The operator must ensure the safe operation and
proper condition of the plant.
Maintenance and repair
Be sure to observe the specified maintenance intervals.
The system must be serviced 1x a year according to the
manufacturer‘s instructions. Further information on maintenance
can be found in the separate maintenance manual supplied.
Malfunctions
Have faults and malfunctions rectified immediately by a
plumbing specialist and/or qualified electrician. Further
information on malfunctions can be found in the troubleshooting
chart (» section 6.2, Troubleshooting chart, on page 94).
By affixing the CE mark to the unit, the manufacturer
declares that the KHS Hygiene Flush Box complies with
