Return to the
Image PC Transfer
tab of the
Buffering and Transfer
dialog; click the
Clear Transfer
Folder
. The images will be cleared from the folder and the
Number of Buffered Images
box
will be set to zero.
Turn the card over so that no code is present. Once again move the card out of the field of view,
trigger the reader and move the card through the field of view at a moderate pace. When the
illumination LED’s stop flashing there should have been five images captured; confirm this by
looking at the
Number of Buffered Images
box on the
Image PC Transfer
tab. If you don’t see five
repeat this step until you do. Click the
Transfer Now
button to transfer the buffered images and click
back to the
Image Playback
tab. You should see five images with the card progressing through the
field of view, with no codes read. As no codes were present, the reader captured the five images it
was configured to capture; all of the images were buffered based on the configuration settings.
Conclusion:
Buffering images can be useful when setting up an application, especially one in which the parts are
moving through the field of view, so that triggering and timing parameters can be adjusted to assure
that a code is read at least once. It can also be useful when troubleshooting a system that may be
missing reads. This lab has showed how to configure image buffering, view the images and clear
them from a folder when no longer needed. All of this can be done without navigating away from the
DataMan Setup Tool
.
