If your system is powered down and you need to remove a disc that is still inside
of your CD-ROM drive, you can open the drive using the emergency eject hole
located on the front of the device. Use a straightened paperclip or the like and
insert it straight into the hole. By carefully exerting a small amount of pressure,
your tray should open about half an inch, allowing you to gently pull the tray open
and retrieve the disc.
Care and Handling
Do not place anything other that a compact disc on your CD-ROM drive’s tray.
The drawer is designed to hold the weight of the CD-ROM disc. If the need arises
to remove the drive for transport or storage, it is recommended to place the drive
back into the original box and packing.
Place the CD disc in the tray “label-side” up. The data that the drive reads is
located on the bottom of the disc.
