IP group definition
Type
Type of the new item:
•
Host
(IP address or DNS name of a particular host),
•
Network / Mask
(subnet with a corresponding mask),
•
IP range
(an interval of IP addresses defined by starting and end IP address in-
cluding the both limit values),
•
Address group
(another group of IP addresses — groups can be cascaded),
•
Firewall
(a special group including all the firewall’s IP addresses, see also chap-
ter
).

Description
Commentary for the IP address group. This helps guide the administrator.
Note:
Each IP group must include at least one item. Groups with no item will be removed
automatically.

Time ranges in
WinRoute
are closely related to traffic policy rules (see chapter
WinRoute
allows the administrator to set a time period where each rule will be applied. These time
ranges are actually groups that can consist of any number of various intervals and single
actions.
