Although the luminaire is of a robust industrial design, and the design is meant to minimise
accidental human or technical errors to occur during normal operation, all impacts of potential
deliberate abuse, vandalism, natural disasters, and lightning could naturally not possibly be considered
during product design. If any damage is caused to the luminaire as a result of these factors, the
Warranty shall not apply. Please protect the luminaire from deliberate abuse!

Maintenance
The luminaire has been designed to be resistant to pollution effects during permanent industrial
use, to ensure a proper product lifetime. Nonetheless, depending on the particular environmental
impacts, it might happen that a larger volume of dust or other pollution is accumulated on the
luminaire, which might have a negative impact on the luminaire’s overall operation, significantly
reducing the useful lifetime. Therefore, subject to the specific environmental factors, please make sure
that you clean the luminaire, the heat sink (Figure 1/1) and the glass optics part (Figure 2/8) at least
once a year. The luminaire can be cleaned without contact, blowing compressed air on it, or with an
antistatic brush, or scrub. The glass part shall be cleaned with a soft, absorbent cloth and detergent
(general glass cleaner) and water.
The luminaire is IP67 rated, so in justified cases, it can also be cleaned with normal tap water (at 2-
6 bar). NO steam cleaning shall be applied to the luminaire, it is strictly prohibited!
If the glass surface on the luminaire gets heavily polluted, the heat impact of the light staying within
the luminaire might damage the light source. Therefore, if you notice any major pollution effect on the
glass surface, please clean it in the way described above.
The luminaire’s mechanical parts shall be visually inspected regularly, depending on the specific
environmental factors, but at least once per year. If you notice any default operation, creating hazard
for the luminaire’s operation, its environment, or the operators, please unplug the luminaire, and call
our technical department!
Please also check the luminaire’s power supply cord at least once a year, to avoid any mechanical
injuries on it. If you notice any injury, please unplug the luminaire, and call our technical department!

Repair and servicing
The Kermann ExProof EasyLight Z1 explosion-proof LED luminaire is designed to minimise any
malfunction during proper use. When any malfunction is noticed with the luminaire, no ignition risk
shall arise, so even if you detect an error signal, please do not mechanically open or disassemble the
luminaire. It is PROHIBITED to tamper with the luminaire, i.e. to open it or disassemble, without the
Manufacturer’s special permission, under all circumstances - due to the explosion hazardous
environment - as it might lead to the staff being injured. If you notice any malfunction, please unplug
the luminaire, and call our customer service! The luminaire shall be unplugged and disassembled only
by skilled staff.
Unless a special contract is signed, the repair of the luminaire shall always be the Manufacturer’s
liability, and shall take place at the Manufacturer’s own site. If the luminaire is opened or
disassembled, the Manufacturer’s Warranty shall not apply.
