GROUNDING

Cords and Grounding (Cont.)
WARNING:
Improper connection of the
equipment-grounding conductor can result
in a risk of electric shock. The conductor
with insulation having an outer surface that
is green with or without yellow stripes is the
equipment-grounding conductor. If repair or
replacement of the cord or plug is necessary,
do not connect the equipment-grounding
conductor to a live terminal. Check with a
qualified electrician or serviceman if the
grounding instructions are not completely
understood or if in doubt as to whether
the Home Bar is properly grounded. Do not
modify the plug provided with the Home Bar—
if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet
installed by a qualified electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120V
circuit and has a grounding plug that looks like
the plug illustrated in sketch (A) in
Figure 1
.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS:
A short power
supply cord is provided to reduce the risk
of becoming entangled in or tripping over a
longer cord. If an extension cord is used, (1)
the marked electrical rating of the cord set
or extension cord should be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance, (2)
the cord should be arranged so that it will not
drape over a countertop or table top where it
can be pulled on by children or tripped over
unintentionally and (3) the extension cord
must include a three-prong grounding plug.
EXTERNAL CLEANING:
It is recommended
that the Home Bar is unplugged while cleaning
the exterior of the appliance.
WHEN UNPLUGGING POWER:
To
disconnect, turn off the power switch, then
remove plug from outlet.
Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To
unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
