CALCulate:SMOothing Subsystem
This subsystem controls the smoothing (moving average) filter. This subsystem applies only to the 34465A
and 34470A.
Command Summary
CALCulate:SMOothing:RESPonse {SLOW|MEDium|FAST}
CALCulate:SMOothing:RESPonse?
Selects the number of measurements to be averaged by the moving average (boxcar) filter.
Parameter
Typical Return
{SLOW|MEDium|FAST} SLOW = 100 measurements, MEDium = 50 meas-
urements, FAST = 10 measurements. Default: 10 measurements.
SLOW
Enable a 50-point moving average filter on 1000 measurements:

l
Applies only to the 34465A and 34470A.
l
The smoothing (moving average) filter produces one result for each measurement made.
l
The smoothing (moving average) filter is reset when the measurement function changes, by
,
, or
, or if a reading is too far beyond the current average.
l
After the smoothing (moving average) filter is reset, the filter produces results which are the average of
all measurements made after the reset, until the required number of measurements are made as selec-
ted by
. Once the required number measurements are made, the res-
ults are the moving average of the last 10, 50, or 100 measurements. Equal weighting is applied to all
measurements used in the average.
l
The instrument sets the response time to FAST after a Factory Reset (
) or after an Instrument Pre-
set (
).
