Introduction
Unsecuring the Multimeter Without the Security Code
This procedure shows you how to unsecure the multimeter without the correct
security code. See "ESD Precautions" before beginning this procedure.

Remove power from the mainframe.

Disconnect all inputs to the Multimeter and remove the module from the
mainframe.

Remove the module’s top and bottom shields by removing the eight torx
screws (see Figure 8-2).

Short the two pins labeled JM500 by applying a jumper between the pins (see
Figure 5-1).

Carefully reinstall the Multimeter into the mainframe.

Reapply power to the mainframe.

Execute the following commands: Execute CAL:SEC:STAT OFF <code>
(<code> can now be anything). Execute CAL:SEC:CODE <newcode> (where
"newcode" is a code you choose and now is the new security code). The
multimeter is now unsecured.

Remove power from the mainframe.

Remove the Multimeter module from the mainframe.

Remove the jumper shorting the JM500 pins.

Reinstall the module shields.

Reinstall the multimeter in the mainframe and reapply power.
