Parameters in the Protocol Tab
High Speed Timing Settings
•
HS Prepare Length [SI]
: PREPARE is the initial sub-state before the
HS-burst starts and HS Prepare Length defines the number of DIFP
(Differential Positive Voltage) states before the bit stream is started.
The actual HS Prepare Length can be calculated with the formulas
given in
Table 7 “PREPARE, SYNC, and ADAPT Attribute and Dependent
Parameter Values” of the MIPI
®
Alliance Specification for M-PHY
®
Version 5.0 document
.
•
Stall Length [UI]
: This defines the number of DIFN (Differential
Negative Voltage) states after a data burst. This parameter only affects
the data output when the sequence file (see
contains a “STALL” entry in the data block definition.
•
HS Sync Length [SI]
: This defines the number of SYNC pattern symbols
before the burst starts. For HS mode, the Prepare Length will be
followed by a SYNC sequence (D10.5, D26.5). In HS burst and PWM
burst modes, the SYNC sequence is followed by the payload. The
payload starts with MARKER0 (MK0)

•
HS Sync Range
: Select either
Fine
or
Coarse
for the HS Sync Range.
For Fine, the duration of the HS sync sequence T
SYNC
is equal to the HS
Sync Length: T
SYNC
= SYNC_length.
For Coarse, T
SYNC
= min(2
SYNC_length
, 2
14
).
For more details see

and Dependent Parameter Values” of the MIPI

•
Initial Adapt Length
: The ADAPT sub-state is intended to allow the
DUT equalizer training to adapt to the channel characteristic when
receiving an HS data stream. The ADAPT sequence starts with a MK0
followed by an 8b10b-encoded PRBS9 pattern completed by one b0
bit. The Initial Adapt Length parameter defines the duration of the
Initial ADAPT sequence after power-up.
•
Refresh Adapt Length
: This defines the duration of the refresh ADAPT
sequence during link operation.
•
Initial Adapt Type
: Select either
Fine
or
Coarse
.
For Fine, the duration of the Initial ADAPT sequence is calculated as
T
ADAPT
= 650 * (ADAPT_ 1).
For Coarse, T
ADAPT
= 650 * 2
ADAPT_length
, where ADAPT_length < 18.
