Using the diesel hot water heater system
Your Kimberley is equipped with a diesel
powered hot water system. This is operated
with a display controller found here:
• KAMPER - in the front dash near cooker
slide
• KARAVAN - rear wall near small seat
• KRUISERS - kitchen dash panel
To use system:
(
Check diesel fuel level is suffi cient)
1. Turn on Hot Water power (Kamper only)
2. Press display power button once
3. Rotate control dial to select Water Heating
4. Press control dial to start water heater. Wait approx. 5 minutes
before using hot water then use as desired
5. Press control dial to start water heater to cease system operation. Otherwise system will run for a full 30
minute cycle before switching itself off.
If the Hot Water system is activated with the Infi nity sign then this will run continuously until turned off.
You can set the Water timer to run for a set number of minutes by rotating the dial to the desired number of
minutes.
Maintenance
This system is a closed loop system and should require very little maintenance. However,
the following items should be inspected and replaced as necessary:
1. Fuel fi lter -
check this before every major trip & replace if necessary
2. Coolant level (in Coolant tank)
Located inline in the right side Gullwing of the Kamper
approx 6" from the Diesel Bottle.
- this should be checked every 12 months and
topped up if necessary—DO NOT FILL COOLANT LEVEL RIGHT UP TO TOP OF TANK
(Use high-quality Automotive Radiator Coolant)
3. Check Fuel & Coolant lines for any leaks
4. The Diesel Heater should be service by an authorized service centre every 2 years.
IMPORTANT:
•
If you turn the Heater off at the controller, do not turn off power switch until heater unit performs it shut –
off process. Wait at least 10 minutes.
•
Water fl ow rate for best temperature control is best at Approx. 3.5 litres per minute—this equates to 10.5L
for a 3 minute shower.
• In the Kamper - condensation may build up in right side of front box if system is operated with door closed.
If you are having this problem, simply leave the box door open when using hot water system & do not close
until system cools down.
• Heater system heats coolant to 80°C (176°F)
then turns off. When coolant cools to 69°C (156
°F) the
heater system begins heating again. The heater will perform this cycle throughout the pre-set time period
(typically 3 times for a 30 min. pre-set period).
• Under normal operating conditions when starting and stopping this system you may notice a small amount
of smoke issue from the exhaust outlet. If system discharges excessive amount of smoke please contact
your Dealer as soon as possible for servicing.
DANGER OF EXPLOSION & SUFFOCATION!
This heater must not be operated:
•
In fi lling stations and tank farms.
• In places where explosive vapours or dust may build up
(e.g. near fuel, coal, wood dust or cereal stores).
• In enclosed rooms (e.g. garages), not even via the timer or Telestart.
If you have pre-set hot water system run-times you must cancel these before travelling—or else
system may activate automatically whilst in the above situations.
Your Kimberley may be fi tted with a Space Heater for your camping comfort.
How to use your Space Heater:
1. Start diesel-powered hot water heater system
2. Press Space Heater Power switch to ON position (located on front of heater)
Note:
The Space heater uses hot coolant from the hot water heater—therefore the hot water heater must be running
for space heater operation.
Air Heater (Optional)
Your Kimberley may be fi tted with a diesel-powered Air Heater for your camping comfort.
This can be located underneath the bed (Kamper), under the small seat (Karavan) or in
bottom of the kitchen cabinets (Kruiser). Outlet vents are mounted down low and air fl ow
direction can be adjusted as needed.
To use Air

2. Press display power button once
3. Rotate control dial to select Air Heater

5. Press control dial to start or stop Air Heater Operation.
For detail instructions use the ‘Operating Instructions’ included in
your owners satchel.

continue to run. The heater should now be able to be cycled on and
off on demand until fuel
runs out or it is time to move camp.
CAUTION:
When packing up your Kimberley, ensure that the heater is switched OFF with the Control Dial. Do NOT run
unit for shorter than 15 minute time periods.
