5. Installation in the vehicle
In case of sudden braking or an accident, persons not using seat belts can cause damage to other passengers.
Always check the following:
•
The seat backrests are locked in the vehicle (i.e. foldable back seat is locked).
•
All heavy objects and sharp edges are secured (e.g. on the rear parcel shelf).
•
All passengers fastened their seat belts.
•
The safety seat is always protected, even if the child is not in it.
5.1 Installing the car seat for children in weight group 1 (9-
18kg) − Fig. 11
•
Adjust the height of the shoulder straps (see section 4.4).
•
Place the safety seat on the car seat, ensuring that it fits tightly to the seat (Fig. 12).
•
Pull out the safety belt of the vehicle, pull the buckle (along with the belt) through the slot in the seat
backrest (Fig. 13).
•
Then stretch the belt behind the backrest (Fig. 14).
•
Note: The car safety belt must run under the harness belt system!
•
Then pull the belt through the slot in the backrest on the other side of the seat (with the seat belt buckle)
in order to fasten the latch in the buckle (Fig. 15).
•
Place the lap section of the car safety belt under the armrests on both sides of the seat (Fig. 16).
•
The shoulder section of the car safety belt (from the side of the buckle) should run so that to embrace the
backrest (Fig. 17).
On the upper edge of the backrest the belt should run “behind” the plastic bump (felt
under the safety seat cover).
•
Lean your knee against the seat and tighten the seat belt towards the retractor as much as possible.
5.2 Installing the child seat in weight groups 2 and 3 (15-
36kg) − Fig. 18
The seat harness must be removed (see section 4.6) when a child weighing from 15 kg to 36 kg is to travel in
the safety seat. You should then use only the 3-point car safety belt.
• Adjust the headrest to the child's he
ight.
• Place the car seat on the vehicle seat.
• Pull the shoulder strap through the red guide under the headrest.
• Place your child in the seat and place the car safety belt under the armrest of the seat.
• Fasten the seat belt and make sure you hear the buckle “click”.
• Tighten the vehicle seat belt by pulling the lap belt section, and then the shoulder belt section.
Make sure that the lap belt is stretched as low as possible over the child's hips, placed in the guides and fixed
in the buckle. The shoulder belt should be positioned between the shoulder and the neck of the child.
6.1 Removing the cover
•
Remove the seat harness (see section 4.6).
•
Release the flexible headrest cover fastening. Then place the backrest in a flat position (Fig. 20).
•
Release the cover fastening from the attachment points and remove the cover from the seat base and the
backrest (Fig. 21).
6.2 Installing 5-point harness and cover
•
After cleaning, place the cover on the seat parts and fix it (Fig. 22).
•
Place the two backrest hooks in the base, and then place the backrest in the vertical position (photo 23).
•
Pull the metal harness crotch strap buckle through the slot in the seat base, and then secure it in the seat
base.
