Additional notes for Australia and New Zealand
The collector must be installed in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS 3500.4 Plumbing and drainage
- Heated water services or, in New Zealand by Building Code Clause NZBC G12. The installer should note that it is
recommended to place a properly drained safe-tray under collectors, heaters or tanks where leakage would be
likely to cause any damage.
For potable water installations, water characteristics should be in accordance to the table below.

Hail protection covers are not applicable: The glass is compliant to Collector Testing Appendix C, Section C5,
Glass Breakage Safety Test (AS/NZS 2712: 2007). Warning: In the event of a breakage. The replacement of
vacuum tubes should be carried out by qualified installers only.
The collector glazing can be cleaned using a mains pressure garden hose and washing detergent
(High pressure washers should not be used).
Important Guidance for the Republic of Ireland
Solar installations in the Republic of Ireland must be installed in accordance with the Irish Agrément Board
certificate No. 10/0345, which takes precedence over this installation document.
NSAI Agrément (Irish Agrément Board) is designated by Government to issue European Technical Approvals.
NSAI Agrément Certificates establish proof that the certified products are ‘proper materials’ suitable for their
intended use under Irish site conditions and in accordance with the Building Regulations 1997 to 2011.
Certificate No. 10/0345 details the installation requirements and extends to every aspect of the installation.
NSAI Agrement compliant roof kits are supplied with their own installation instructions, not contained in this
manual, also available upon request.
Agrement compliant roof kits are available including joist hangers for the additional roof supports required.

In order to comply with the future MCS012 requirements in the UK and NI, MCS012 compliant kits are available
upon request. At the time of printing, MCS012 has not been introduced and may be subject to change. Therefore
the installation methods have not been included in this manual.
