Android - Troubleshooting Stick Setup or
Temperature Reading errors
There are a few issues that can interfere with the setup or temperature reading of your Kinsa
Stick thermometer on an Android device, but don’t worry – we will take you through each
possibility until you’re ready to go.
The first thing to check for is your device compatibility by accessing “

Physical device connections
Audio settings:

Connection Problems
Sometimes connection problems happen between the app and the thermometer. To be sure there
aren’t any, the following tips should be applied.
1.
Launch the Recent Applications menu.
2.
Swipe right to close the Kinsa app.
3.
Be sure the headphone jack is clear of lint. You can clean the headphone jack by gently
using a toothpick to clear it out.
4.
Finally make sure you listen for a ‘click’ when you use any of these combinations of
plugging your:

Kinsa into the black adapter (setup only)
o
Black adapter into the phone (setup only)
o
Kinsa into the phone
o
Kinsa into the extension cord
o
Extension cord into the phone
