Protection
Refer to the Technical Spec for supply voltage range and fuse rating.
To prevent any trouble or problems occurring from high temperatures inside the appliance, it is
advisable not to use the DN9824 in environments where the ambient temperature exceeds 40°C. It is
also important to provide sufficient air-flow around the unit.
It is not recommended to install or operate the DN9824 directly above or below any device that
generates a large magnetic field; e. g. power amplifiers.
For best results, the unit should be operated using balanced inputs and outputs. In this configuration,
the non-inverting conductor (+) of the cable needs to be assigned to pin 2 of the XLR type connector,
while the inverting conductor (-) is assigned to the connector's pin 3. The shielding has to be connected
to pin 1. If the input channels have transformers for galvanic isolation, the cable screen should not be
connected to the ground plain of the transmitting device.
It is also possible to operate the appliance in unbalanced input/output configuration. In this
configuration , the cable's "HOT" conductor must be connected to pin 2 and the screen to pin 1 of the
XLR connector. To prevent a 6dB level attenuation, the user must short-circuit pins 1 and 3 of the XLR
connector. On the other hand, if this measure leads to interference noise, removal this connection is
recommended.
Note - To prevent loss of higher frequencies, it is recommended that audio cables should not exceed
10m.
CAUTION: TO REDUCE RISK OF ELECTRICALSHOCK OR FIRE, DO NOT REMOVE COVER.
NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE.
DO NOT EXPOSE THIS EQUIPMENTTO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.
WARNING: THIS EQUIPMENT MUST BE EARTHED.
If the unit is subjected to extreme fluctuations of temperature, e.g. from being transported from outside
into a heated room, condensation may form. The unit should not be switched on until it has reached
room temperature.
