When changing the battery:
1. Connect the yellow plug into the yellow socket
2. Connect the red plug into the red socket
3. Connect the black plug into the black socket
D. MAINTENANCE
a. Information
Turn the power switch to “off” before beginning any repairs or maintenance:
- Read the instructions
- Remove the charger plug
- Turn the power switch to “off”
- Secure the unit being repaired
- Exercise caution around exposed parts
- Contact Globber customer service if unsure about any repairs or maintenance
b. Drive-system specifications
- The hub motor integrated in the front wheel directly drives the front wheel of the scooter. The engine power is 250w and range is 15-20km after
single charge. Range may vary according to the rider’s weight.
c. Recommendations on general maintenance
- In addition to all the checks carried out before each use, your electric scooter requires regular maintenance and a special care to maintain optimal
performance in complete safety. It is recommended that you contact your supplier to get the best level of maintenance possible.
- Components shall be maintained and repaired in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and using only the manufacturer’s
specifications.
- Use only the manufacturer’s authorized replacement parts with installation performed by dealers or other skilled persons.
Regular maintenance
It is essential to regularly lubricate the moving parts for an optimal useful life.
These zones are:
- The upper steering roller
- The deck pivot : apply a few drops of oil to every part of this zone between the deck and the socket
- The locking pedal joint
- The double lock: regularly wash and lubricate the folding mechanism especially if your scooter has been in contact with water
- The lower steering roller
Every 3 months or 1500 km
- Fully charge your battery at least once.
- Check for wear and tear on the rear-drum brake, if the setting cylinder is at its maximum position, contact your supplier to disassemble the brake and
check the filling conditions.
- Check the other components for wear and tear: wheels’ rollers, locking system.
- Condition of the chassis:
Check that that chassis is not bent or damaged, and that the paint is not cracked, which is a sign of excessive rubbing.
The underside must be in good condition, with no wear and tear caused by rubbing on the ground. Any deterioration would decrease the
resistance of the product.
- Condition of electric drivers and plugs:
By dismantling the central cover, check the conditions of the plugs and their waterproofing, check the cable connection to the chassis and their
path through metal ports.
The isolators must be in good condition and must not be unreasonably bent.
Care / Maintenance: regular maintenance is a safety commitment;
-
Wheel bearings
: avoid going through water, oil or sand as this can damage wheel bearings. To look after the wheel bearings, systematically check
that the wheels turn properly by turning the scooter upside-down and using your hand to spin the wheels. If the wheels do not spin they must be
removed to check their condition. First unscrew the wheel axle, remove the axle and detach the wheel, then carefully push the two wheel bearings
out of their housing. If they are chipped or dented, new ones should be bought. If there is no visible damage, they must then be oiled. To do this,
remove all traces of grease, mud or dust with a kitchen towel or cloth, and re-oil them with a grease spray or by leaving them to soak overnight in
oil [turn them several times in the oil first]. Then reassemble the wheel bearings and axles, followed by the wheel, onto the scooter. Proceed in the
same manner for the other wheel.
-
Wheels
: the wheels wear down with time if overly used on rough surfaces. In the interest of safety, they should be checked regularly and replaced
if necessary.
-
Modifications
: the original product must by no means be modified except for the maintenance-related changes mentioned in these instructions.
-
Nuts, axles and other self-locking fixings
: these should also be checked regularly. They can become loose after a while in which case they
should be tightened. They can become worn and not tighten properly, in which case they should be replaced.
-
Reflective printing
: Clean the reflective printing with a clean, lint-free cloth. Eventually, use a glass cleaner.
E. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE
SOLUTION
Scooter will not run
Battery is not charged
Fully charge the battery. The first charge takes
approximately 6 hours and up to 4 hours for
recharges.
Wires or connectors are loose or
unplugged
Check to ensure that the charger is securely
plugged into both the wall socket and the scooter.
Scooter run-time is short
Battery requires charging
Fully charge the battery. The first charge takes
approximately 6 hours and up to 4 hours for
recharges.
Check to ensure that the charger is securely
plugged into both the wall socket and the scooter.
Make sure that the wall socket is connected to the
mains power.
Battery will not charge fully
The battery may need to be replaced. Even with
proper care, rechargeable batteries do not last
forever. The average rechargeable battery life is
1 to 2 years depending on scooter conditions and
use. Replace only with GLOBBER replacement
batteries.
Scooter suddenly stops working
Brakes are not adjusted correctly
Refer to the instructions on adjusting the brakes.
Excessive overload (a steep incline, or the rider is
too heavy) may have caused the motor to overheat
and trip the breaker. If this occurs (scooter suddenly
stops running) wait a few seconds and then push
the
ON/OFF
button to reset the circuit.
Circuit breaker has tripped
Avoid tripping the breaker repeatedly.
Check all wires and connectors to make sure they
are connected and secure.
Check all wires and connectors to make sure they
are connected and secure.
Scooter runs sluggishly
Scooter is overloaded
Make sure you do not overload the scooter by
exceeding the maximum weight limit (100kg),
going up steep inclines or by towing objects behind
the scooter. Avoid overloading the scooter as
this will prematurely wear out the batteries and
components.
Unsuitable riding conditions
Ride only on solid, flat, clean and dry surfaces such
as pavement or level ground.
F. WARRANTY
- The warranty of your scooter is 2 years.
- This warranty is limited. It does not cover the wear and tear of components such as the brake parts, tyres, wheel rollers.
- In no circumstances does it take into account breakdowns, breakage or damage caused by improper use, poor maintenance or incorrect
battery storage.
- Intensive use, extended climbs, fast speeds and high temperatures could generate irreversible damage. It is highly recommended that you do not
use the E-MOTION in such conditions.
