8. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
The MCK AHU is designed for continuous operation. Periodic overhauls of the unit are required by the warranty. The
filters are to be replaced by a user. It is necessary to inspect elements, which become contaminated (filters, ex-
changer fins) or worn/degraded due to operation (V-belts, bearings).
Operation and maintenance activities are presented below.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE ACTIVITIES CAN BE CARRIED OUT
ONLY WHEN THE DEVICE IS TURNED OFF AND STOPPED.
In order to keep the AHU in continuous operation it is necessary to carry out the following inspections:
- Check connections of all flange and screw elements.
- Check anticorrosive protection of each AHU.
- Check tension of the rotor v-belts.
after 3-month period:
- Check tightness of the cooling system.
- Check oil level in the compressors.
- Check tightness of the glycol system.
after 6-month period:
- Check tightness of the cooling system.
- Check oil level in the compressors.
- Check tightness of the glycol system.
- Check condition of the rotary exchanger's drive belt.
- Check the rotary exchanger's drive reducer and motor cleanliness, clean if necessary.
after 12-month period:
- Check cleanliness of heat exchangers and heat recovery exchangers using a vacuum cleaner, soft brush or blow
with compressed air.
- Check cleanliness of fans.
- Check again tightness of DX and glycol systems.
- Check bearings as operating elements requiring inspection, cleaning and in case of rotor drive with moto reducer
gear
–
periodic lubrication (eg. Shell Ensis DW 1262).
IF YOU DO NOT USE THE CUAL HEAT EXCHANGER AND WATER HUMIDIFIER WITH FILTER IN WINTER
SEASON, DRAIN WATER/CONDENSATE FROM THE EXCHANGER OR HUMIDIFIER USING THE DRAIN
VALVE.
CLEANING AND WASHING ACTIVITIES SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY APPROPRIATELY TRAINED PERSONNEL.
USE ONLY ORIGINAL CLEANING OR DISINFECTION PRODUCTS.
DO NOT USE POWDERS OR SOLVENTS BECAUSE THEY WILL SCRATCH THE SURFACE AND EVEN DEFORM AND IN
TURN DAMAGE THE ELEMENTS.
NOTE!
Carry out inspections according to the operating conditions and schedules:
8.1 Dampers
Air throttle valves, especially on the side of outside air, must be kept clean. Excess contamination may cause the
blades to remain ajar or the rotating mechanisms to seize.
Throttle valves may be cleaned with an industrial vacuum cleaner with a soft suction nozzle, blown through with
compressed air or washed with water under pressure and cleaning agents that do not cause aluminum corrosion.
8.2 Filters
Filters should be renewed when the admissible pressure drop on the filters has been exceeded (Tab. No 19) or
according to visual inspection. The unit must be switched off during filter renewal. The class of new filters has to
correspond to the class of the used filters. During filter renewal also the filtration section has to be cleaned.
