MAINTENANCE
5.2.1 Oil level check
5.2.2 Oil temperature switch check
5.2.2 Oil top-up
The compressor is equipped with an electrical oil level switch. When the minimum level is reached a warning signal is
sent to vehicle system.
When the vehicle system indicates that the minimum oil level is reached, then top up the oil level.
Oil level switch check (connection see 4.1.6):
-
After oil drainage:
- Connect pin 3 to +24V, pin 4 to ground
- Control signal on pin 5, must be approx. 24V
-
After oil filling
- Control signal on pin 5, must be <0.2 V
See 4.1.6 for electrical connection.
Check conductivity between pin 1 and 2, compressor cold (<50°C)
The top-up must be made:
-
Vehicle stopped at horizontal position (kneeling deactivated).
-
After the motor/compressor set has been turned off.
Procedure:
-
Switch off the motor/compressor set and prevent it from restarting.
-
Vent the pneumatic system entirely:
-
unscrew the filling plug A (see 5.1) for one turn.
-
wait untill the pressure is entirely vented.
-
Unscrew the filling plug A (see 5.1).
-
Top-up the oil until it reaches the bottom of the thread (see below).
-
Screw in the filling plug A with a new sealing washer.
NOTE
To achieve a reproducible state, it is advisable to firstly run the motor/compressor set until warm.
NOTE
Oil may run out while the filling plug A is being unscrewed.
WARNING
Possibility of pressure in the compressor housing!
Particles flung outwards, hot air and oil will, for instance, cause severe eye injuries.
Cautiously unscrew the filling plug A (see 5.1).
