Kobra 260 HS-2
CONGRATULATIONS
You have just bought a KOBRA 260 HS-2 paper
shredding machine belonging to the last series of
KOBRA high security shredder.
In order to get the best performances from your
machine, please read the following instructions
and follow them carefully before you operate the
machine.
FEATURES
KOBRA 260 HS-2 operates with a cutting unit
making a 0,8x9,5 mm. shred size (1/32”x1/16‘). The
machine is set to accept up to 11-13 A4 70 gr. sqm.
sheets at a time.
Metal staples and clips should be removed from
paper to assure longer life and efficiency to the
high security cutting unit.
INSTALLATION
The KOBRA 260 HS-2 may be plugged into a
220 Volt 50 Hz AC mains using a plug with earth
contact fitted with 10A fuse. The machines made
for the US market are already set in factory for 110
Volt and 50 Hz usage.
Open the front door and remove the two blocking
bolts securing the shredder module [see enclosed
instructions].
Place the plastic bag around the plastic bag holder
and position it inside the waste bin.
The machine is now ready to use.
OPERATION (MANUAL VERSION)
Start the machine by the forward start push-
button. Insert documents to shred in the paper
feed opening. When all documents have been
destroyed, press the stop push-button. When
the reverse push-button is pressed the machine
reverses the direction of operation.
The best performances are obtained by KOBRA 260
HS-2 when the machine is fed below maximum
shredding capacity.
It is recommended to limit jams caused by insertion
of axcessive quantities of paper and to operate the
machine below its maximum shredding capacity in
order to prolong the life of the mechanical parts
and the machine itself.
OPERATION (ELECTRONIC VERSION)
Press the on/oft switch to on (stand-by mode).
The machine is now ready to operate and starts
automatically by inserting the documents to shred.
Then the machine turns off when shredding is
completed.
In case too much paper is feeded the machine
automatically reverses and ejects the documents
going to stand-by position [Anti-Jamming-System].
AUTOMATIC FUNCTIONS
- Door open switch
KOBRA 260 HS-2 is equipped with a sensor that
cuts all machine functions when front door is open.
The door open situation is signalled by a red light
located on panel switch board.
- Stop for bag full
When waste bin is full the machine is switched
automatically off.
The red light on the control board warns the
operator to empty plastic bag.
- Motor overheating protection
The KOBRA 260 HS-2 is equipped with automatic
motor protection that switches the machine off
when motors are overheated.
The machine automatically starts when motors
have cooled down.
MAINTENANCE
The KOBRA 260 HS-2 gives best performances
when the cutting mechanism is is lubricated every 4
hours of operation by wetting with oil the paper to
be shredded. This should be done more frequently
when the machine is used intensively.
The cutting mechanism should be brushed
periodically to remove paper dust. First switch the
machine off and unplug it from main supply, then
lift top cover to gain access to cutting unit.
