10 Cleaning and maintenance
10.1 Cleaning the device
►
Clean the device with a soft cloth dampened with water. To clean soiled connections, use a non-scratch brush. Do not use
cleaning agents or solvents when cleaning the Weather Station, as they can damage the housing and enter the device, causing
permanent damage.
►
Battery contacts can be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
►
If the device becomes wet, turn it off and remove the batteries immediately. Dry the battery compartment with a soft cloth to
minimise the risk of water damage. Leave the cover off the battery compartment overnight or until completely dry. Do not use the
device until it is completely dry.
►
If batteries leak, the escaped liquid can cause injuries (irritate the skin) or damage the device.
►
Dispose of batteries according to the environmental regulations.
►
Wear protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a soft paper towel. It is recommended to have the device
cleaned by a specialist.
10.2 Maintenance
►
Regularly check the batteries inside the device.
►
To avoid leaks, immediately replace the batteries when the battery low icon is
displayed.
►
Defective parts should be repaired by a specialist.
11 Disposal of the device (environmental protection)
At the end of the product lifecycle, do not dispose of this product as normal household waste but take it to a collection point for the
correct recycling of electrical and electronic equipments. The symbol on the product, in the user manual and/or on the
box indicate this. Some of the product materials can be re-used if you take them to a recycling point. By recycling parts
or raw materials from used products you make an important contribution to the protection of the environment. Please
contact your local authorities in case you need more information on collection points in your area.
