Available Ink Configurations
Green (G) and orange (O) inks have been eliminated from the GX and GO ink set
configurations. The chart below illustrates all remaining ink set combinations.
NOTE 1:
If the use of a six (6) color ink set is desired, cartridges must be installed in
carriage stall positions indicated by an asterisk (*). Typically the standard YMCK colors
are used in these locations; ink bottles and cartridges need to be primed and working
correctly in these ‘unused’ locations. While the stall positions are not used during printing
they are used during routine spitting (i.e. every 6, 15, or 120 second spit intervals
depending on ink type and spit routine selected). An ‘Out of Ink or Deprime’ error
message may result if cartridges in these stall positions are not primed properly as
outlined above.
NOTE 2:
The Kodak 4800 series printers originally used light fast (LF) dye inks which
follow the same configurations as GS+ above. The LF pigment inks were only available
in the CMYK ink configuration, but are no longer available. Kodak 4800 customers who
wish to use Encad inks/cartridges should upgrade printer firmware (NJ8x2013.rom).
