Image Cleaner Tool
— when checked, the Picture Saver System will
make every attempt to eliminate any streaks in the image during the
scanning process. Applying the Image Cleaner Tool does not slow
down the scanning process. Frequently streaks in images are caused
because the scanner has accumulated dust and dirt. Be sure your
scanner is clean to help prevent streaks in images.
NOTE: The Image Cleaner tool is not applied to flatbed scans and front
side scans.
KODAK Perfect Touch
— if you check the
Apply to Both Sides
checkbox, KODAK Perfect Touch will be applied to both sides of any
photo that you scan two-sided when applying KODAK Perfect Touch. If
you do not check this box, it will only be applied to the side of the photo
facing up. In most cases where the back of the photo has only text
written on it, KODAK Perfect Touch will have no effect on the back side
of the image; running KODAK Perfect Touch only on the front side will
reduce processing time.
For single-sided scanning, KODAK Perfect Touch will always be
applied to the side of the photo that you scan.
Crop Border
— allows you to set the amount of cropping at the
boundaries of the image.

Normal
: automatically crops to the edge of the scanned image.
•
Aggressive
: produces an image that contains just the photo by
eliminating any residual border. If the image has rough or uneven
edges, setting
Aggressive
cropping may eliminate any gaps where
the background would show through. There is a possibility that a
small amount of image area will be lost.
Fill Border
— allows you to create a border 0.02 inches wide around
the edge of the image. This border will be added inside the image area;
it will replace image content. You can choose:
• None
• Black
•
White
You can change the width of the border. Refer to the section,
Application Configuration
in Chapter 7 for more information.
