MENU operation
Echoes in short range are varied in accordance with the antenna height. Use 9 for the lowest antenna
and 1 for the highest antenna. Actual adjustment of the ANTENNA HEIGHT is done by obtaining a
continuous echo return of the sea clutter out to a maximum selected range. Take care that erasing sea
clutter in short-range functions will erase targets as well.
10.4.6.5 Setting GAIN circuit (GAIN)
Gain settings are stored for each AUTO/MANUAL mode and PULSE (S/M/L or S/M1/M2/L) in use. This
adjustment should be made to obtain a small amount of noise on the display.
(1) Adjustment in AUTO (AUTO1, AUTO2, HARBOR) mode
(a) Set PULSE type first.
(b) Press the “MENU” key and select Adjust
→
GAIN. Press the “AUTO1, AUTO2 or HARBOR” key.
(c) “XXXXX GAIN ADJUSTMENT” will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Using the rotary
control, choose a desired value from 1 to 30 while watching the noise on the screen.
(d) Press the “ENTER” key to store the setting and exist from the adjusting screen.
Repeat from (a) to (d) on each AUTO mode and PULSE type if you need.
(2) Adjustment in MANUAL mode
(a) Set PULSE type and GAIN 60 first.
(b) Press the “MENU” key and select Adjust
→
GAIN. Press the “MANUAL” key.
(c) “MANUAL GAIN ADJUSTMENT” will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Using the control
knob choose a desired value from 1 to 30 while watching the noise on the screen.
(d) Press the “ENTER” key to store the setting and exist from the adjusting screen.
Repeat from (a) to (c) on each PULSE if you need.
10.4.6.6 Setting the STC circuit (STC)
STC settings are stored for each AUTO/MANUAL mode and PULSE (S/M/L or S/M1/M2/L) in use.
AUTO1 and AUTO2 STC will automatically control the STC level even if the sea conditions change.
The AUTO1 and AUTO2 STC circuit deletes echoes within 0.1nm of your boat. Because the AUTO1
and AUTO2 STC function is effective outside 0.1nm. You should perform this adjustment in an open
sea area, not in a congested waterway or harbor. Harbor STC mode means that a fixed STC level is
applied when the ship is going into a harbor or close to shore. Set the HARBOR STC level while your
boat is in the harbor. HARBOR STC settings are stored for each in use independently.
