EDUCATIONAL MODES
The Y-Pad Computer has five different educational modes: Letter mode, Word mode, Spell Mode, Asking Mode and Demo
Mode. Each mode has its own specific functions.
LETTER MODE
In Letter Mode:
- When pressed, the numeric keys 1-10 resemble piano keys, each corresponding with a musical note.
- When the letters A-Z are pressed, the English pronunciation of those letters are spoken by the computer
- When the six keys – eg. milk, hotdog, hamburger, duck, frog and sheep - located at the bottom at the Y-Pad are pressed,
the English pronunciation of those words are spoken by the computer.
WORD MODE
In word Mode:
- When the letters A-Z are pressed, the English pronounciation of the corresponding words are spoken by the computer. (eg.
when the user presses 'Aa', the word 'Apple' is pronounced aloud)
SPELL MODE
In Spell Mode:
When the letters A-Z are pressed, the corresponding word is spelled aloud by the computer. (eg. When 'Aa' is pressed, the
word 'apple' is spelled aloud: A-P-P-L-E).
ASKING MODE
In Asking Mode:
- The computer asks the user to locate a specific letter or word. eg. The toy will ask "Where is Aa?” or “Where is 'Apple'?”
Once the letter/word is selected, the computer will state if the selection is correct or incorrect.
DEMO MODE
In demo mode:
One of two songs begins to play.
