C l o s e choke and s t a r t e n g i n e . Hold choke in c l o s e d p o s i t i o n and a d j u s t s t a r t i n g m i x t u r e .
L o o s e n locknut then move s e t s c r e w until engine s p e e d p i c k s up f r o m r i c h e r m i x t u r e - - c o n -
tinue t u r n i n g t o w a r d r i c h e r s e t t i n g until s p e e d d r o p s s l i g h t l y f r o m
s e t t i n g . L o c k
s e t s c r e w i n t h i s position then m o v e choke t o open position.
2.
Allow engine t o w a r m up then r e t u r n t h r o t t l e t o i d l e speed.

R e m o v e two b r a s s s c r e w s o n t h r o t t l e p l a t e , s l i p p l a t e out of s l o t in s h a f t . L o o s e n s e t s c r e w ,
r e m o v e c o l l a r then pull s h a f t out of body.
I n s p e c t s h a f t and b u s h i n g s - - r e p l a c e if w o r n o r
d a m a g e d . Always u s e new d u s t s e a l s . R e m o v e s c r e w holding v e n t u r i t o body ( s c r e w a l s o
u s e d f o r i d e n t i f i c a t i o n t a g ) then r e m o v e v e n t u r i a n d i n s p e c t . Make s u r e hole i n v e n t u r i
l i n e s up with pin hole in t h r o t t l e body when r e i n s t a l l i n g . A f t e r thoroughly c l e a n i n g ,
r e a s s e m b l e t h r o t t l e
c o m p o n e n t s .

R e m o v e c o v e r p l a t e , choke p l a t e , choke l e v e r , choke s h a f t , load and s t a r t i n g a d j u s t m e n t
s c r e w s then thoroughly c l e a n a i r h o r n and nozzle housing. Make s u r e a l l p a s s a g e s a r e
blown o u t with a i r h o s e . U s e new d u s t s e a l on choke s h a f t , r e p l a c e d a m a g e d p a r t s and a l l
g a s k e t s . R e a s s e m b l e p a r t s .

R e a s s e m b l e t h r o t t l e body t o a i r h o r n - n o z z l e housing (new g a s k e t b e t w e e n ) then r e i n s t a l l
c a r b u r e t o r with new g a s k e t on manifold. A f t e r r e c o n n e c t i n g l i n e s , m a k e i n i t i a l a d j u s t -
m e n t s on c a r b u r e t o r .
