3. MAINTENANCE

A. WINTERIZING

If your new toilet is in a bathroom or suite which might
experience freezing temperatures, winterizing the toilet
is recommended.

1.

Shut off the water supply. Flush the toilet. Hold the
trip lever down for approximately one minute to
drain the water from the tank assembly. Disconnect
the water supply line.

2.

To clean any remaining water from the screen
adapter, backflow preventer, and pressure
regulator, disconnect the supply hose from the
backflow preventer by turning the nut
counterclockwise. Disassemble the screen
adapter, and clean the screen with a medium to
hard bristle brush. Replace the screen if necessary.
After the screen is clean, reassemble in reverse
order making sure the screen is assembled
correctly (see screen detail).

3.

Disconnect the outlet tubes from the screen
adapter, backflow preventer, pressure regulator
and aspirator. Snap the backflow preventer,
pressure regulator, and aspirator assembly upward
and out of the inlet assembly.

4.

While holding the aspirator firmly, turn the pressure
regulator and backflow preventer counterclockwise
out of the aspirator.  NOTE: Be careful not to drop
the O-ring. Once removed, shake any water from
the backflow preventer and pressure regulator.

5.

Replace these assemblies in reverse order making
sure the O-ring is reinstalled between the backflow
preventer, pressure regulator, and aspirator.

6.

Add antifreeze to the toilet bowl water to prevent
freezing. Use recreational-type antifreeze
commonly used in campers, motor homes, and
boats.
