6. Pre-Fit the Wall Surrounds
NOTE:
If the shower valves or controls prevent the plumbing end wall from being properly positioned
before the necessary holes are cut, refer to the Cut the Holes for Valves section and then return to this
procedure.
Placing the Wall Surrounds in Position
Place the back wall on the receptor. Ensure that the back wall tabs are engaged in the receptor
alignment channels as shown in the illustration.
Temporarily hold the back wall upright by installing a roofing nail or equivalent over the top of the
nailing-in flange into the center of a stud. Do not drive the nail in so far that it interferes with the
end walls.
Position both end walls ensuring that the wall interlock pins are engaged and the end wall tabs are
engaged in the alignment channels as shown in the illustration. Do not nail the walls at this time.
Verify that the assembled wall surround is resting properly on the receptor. If required, remove the
roofing nail at the back wall.
Verify that the walls are flush with the edge of the receptor. If required, push or pull the walls into
position.
While assembled check the fit and verify that the wall sections are properly aligned with the studs
at the upper and vertical nailing flanges. Shim if necessary.
