Before You Begin (cont.)
Shower controls must be located within a specific area on the plumbing end wall. The plumbing
end wall is opposite the transfer seat wall. This area is located on the outer half of the end wall and
between 38
″
(96.5 cm) and 48
″
(121.9 cm) above the receptor floor.
If possible, consider the user’s physical limitations when determining the shower control positioning
and entrance to the unit.
Construction Considerations
CAUTION: Risk of property damage.
Do not add sealant unless directed. The inappropriate use of
sealant may trap moisture and could result in concealed leakage, as well as mold or mildew.
CAUTION: Risk of product damage.
The wall surround sections may be backed with foam to bring
the back of the wall into contact with the stud framing. This foam is not packing material. Do not
remove.
For receptor only installations, sealant is required at the edge of the finished wall and the receptor.
Sealing according to the manufacturer’s instructions may also be required if a shower door is added.
This receptor or shower unit must be installed in an alcove.
Locate the rough plumbing for the drain according to the roughing-in dimensions for your
particular model.
